Artist Creates Blurred Portraits that are Reminiscent of a Big Night Out

According to artist James Bonnici’s website, his latest body of work “explores the process of disclosing concealment: the in-between, a glimpse of what lies beneath the surface.”

We were taken by the mystery behind each painting, with the blurred subjects of the portraits being hidden from view… like an out-of-focus photograph.  Also reminded us a bit of Francis Bacon and how we often feel the morning after a big night out!

Here are some of our favourite works from James’ latest exhibition which is being held at Dark Horse Experiment until 12 October.
