Looking at art is like being in love. Just not as messy.

Don’t go looking for happiness in love. You’re just as likely to find it by looking at art. So says Semir Zeki, Professor of Neuroesthetics at University College London. Professor Zeki has successfully demonstrated that viewing a beautiful work of art creates the same chemical response as love. Both trigger an increase in Dopamine, the feel good drug. During the study, participants underwent brain scans whilst looking at works by artists such as Monet, Rembrandt, and Leonardo da Vinci. When they saw something they liked, the scans indicated that blood flow in certain parts of the brain increased by about 10 percent, the same response seen in those gazing at loved ones.

See how you feel when looking at art such as this:

Are you not in love?

The great thing about looking at art, in the hope of finding love is that art will never get jealous. Art will always appreciate your need to keep looking and will stay by your side as long as you choose to have it. Another reason to love art as much as we do. Here, go find love at artfido.com
