Surprisingly Realistic Banana Peel Art!

15

We’re not sure when it started happening, but all of a sudden, banana-skin art is all the rage. Instead of using a brush, pencil or pen, artists work with pins to create amazingly create illustration on the outside peel. Honey, a graphic artist and illustrator, uses a safety pin and makes small punctures in the skin. As the punctured banana peel turns brown, the organized patterns of dots reveal various and incredibly detailed designs, such as portraits of The Blues Brothers and Jim Morrison. Honey says it usually takes her 20 minutes to 2 hours to create one. When she’s done, she takes a photograph and then eats her art as a snack!
