We Can’t Tell if These Are Good or Bad Tattoos, But Everyone Wants One

They say that art is in the eye of the beholder, and that can be especially true for tattoo art.

Tattoo artist Helena Fernandes has taken it one step even further, as she’ll fix you up with the ugliest, most unprofessional ink you’ve ever seen.

The 26-year-old artist of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, is the proud founder of Malfeitona, a home studio providing what she describes in Portuguese as tatuagens peba (literally “trash tattoos”) with complete honesty. The girl can’t draw to save her life, but she harnesses this lack of skill to carve out a niche for herself as a purveyor of unique and original ink. Not only has Fernandes gone viral for it, she’s managed to build a successful business with dozens of 5-star reviews from happy customers, as well as over 12 thousand Instagram followers.
