Bird's eye view of a vase of spring bossoms
The setting is usually a bird's eye view with all of the colours strong, but not to the point of total abstraction. The shadow , perspective, shape, line, and colour are often exaggerated.
The meaning : the objects are every day stuff, eg plates, cutlery, toys, flowers, shoes left under the table, sleeping cat on the chair.. ect drawn with a slightly off edge perperstive which makes the items feel like there is a kind of pulling and pushing effect. Which to me, is excaltly what life is about. 'It's the rushing around to get everything done.' 'The many hats we all wear to keep everyone happy.' The conversations we are affaid to have with loved ones.' The jobs we hate and we would love to quit but can't because a commitments.' 'All the things that give us a little bits of stress that we just keep putting up with.'
The lack of order in the painting, is as if someone has left a half cleared table after a meal. It helps to reflect on lifes lack of order and the things that are often thrown at us that suddenly take priority of the mundane.
