The artist is Michael Sydney Moore, a 23 year old oil painter working out of a Studio in London. You might not have heard about him before, but given his prodigious talent at such a young age, it won’t be long before he’s a household name.

artFido was lucky enough to catch up with Michael recently and follow him in the creation of his latest painting.  Be sure to bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates as Michael continues to work on this work!

When Michael starts a new work, he brings the sitter into his studio for a photo session. Meet Janet, a London local (this is a photo in case you were wondering):

And the process begins. First a sketch of the eye:

Then some sketches and out comes the oil paint. Firstly with the nose:

The texture in each of the paintings is amazing:
