The Bodiless People In Chris McKenney’s Photos Will Give you Nightmares

Untitled

Art doesn’t just have to be beautiful rainbows, sunshine and kittens – there is true art and beauty in horror as well. Christopher McKenney, a U.S.-based conceptual photographer, understands this perfectly. His dark and twisted surreal photography creates scenes that exist on the boundary between terror and beauty.

The figures in McKenney’s photography seem to be trapped between worlds – some are bisected by floating portals, while others exist only covered by ghostly shrouds. And each is a small but poignant piece of art filled with symbolism and meaning that each of us can interpret for ourselves.
